We started talking with our good friend Arthure Sikiotis, Creative Director and Founder of “Beneath the Roses” a few weeks ago, for a general catch up and to see what’s been happening in his world. Turns out BTR had booked a space at this weeks “Brightspot Market”, Jakarta’s renowned annual fashion event that draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Judging by the international success of Beneath the Roses first instalment.
After our brief catch up, a idea dropped… why wouldn’t we jump on board and collaborate on a Limited Edition table that can be released at the show. We looked through our stock of beautiful wood cuttings, and hand picked a piece we’ve been dying to work on. What we found is a 2.3m long slab, fully laminated with original steel bolts in its original form. The piece was salvaged from a recent shipwrecks we dismantled from a remote shoreline here in Java. The table features custom hardware by BTR and is supported by a metal base to emphasise the delicacy and beauty of the woods original form.
